Hurley Vineyard 2015 Estate Pinot Noir
Winery : Hurley Vineyard
93 POINTS : JAMES HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION
Aromas of briary fruits, violets and the forest floor leading to concentrated and persistent flavours of black cherry, dark plum and meat. The palate is rich but it too has the energy of the ripe acidity and the silk of the ultra-fine tannins of the vintage. A wine we love to make when we can, the Estate is blended from declassified single vineyard barrels, very generous now and always pleases after a few years in bottle. Kevin Bell's wine notes:
Kevin Bell and Tricia Byrnes of Mornington's Hurley Vineyard make pinot noir with great integrity and the utmost attention to detail to celebrate the unique qualities of their Mornington site. In vintage 2014, Hurley Vineyard celebrated its 14th vintage with the release of all the 'climats' - Hommage, Garamond and Lodestone.
Vineyard notes: 'We consider these are wines of great precision, purity and balance. They are quite exceptional.'
