A beautiful, intense violet and red currant nose which if you allow it time, really becomes so expressive in the glass. The palate is really complex with a spicy, savory darker cherry and a delightfully lingering finish. A really impressive young wine.
Glen Ayr is a well-established Coal Valley vineyard, part of the historic Strath Ayr farming property which dates back to 1820. The vineyard was planted in 1975, the second vineyard to be established in the now much-acclaimed Coal Valley.
