Proprietor actor Sam Neill started modestly with plantings in Gibbston. In 1999 further vines were planted in Alexandria, Central Otago's most southern sub-region. Recently, Two Paddocks extended their holdings of premium pinot noir growing estates by purchasing established Desert Heart vineyard in Bannockburn.
