Home Hill 2018 Estate Pinot Noir
Winery : Home Hill
98 Points - James Halliday
It's a sleek beauty this one! Clarity of colour and fruit. The nose is intense, mouthwatering... bold berries - currants and cherries - with underlay of damask roses, clove and waft of charcuterie. There's vitality to the flavours (thanks to superbly grown old vines), depth too and that unmistakable sleekness. Sweet licorice and lick of salt on the juicy but dry finish. What an intriguing wine, even in youth. Michele - Pinot Shop AustraliaHome Hill Estate is at Ranelagh in Tasmania's Huon Valley. Since the remarkable 2005 Home Hill Pinot Noir, which won the (then) Tri Nations Trophy, Home Hill in Tasmania's Huon Valley has produced a stand-out pinot in each vintage. Owner Terry Bennett's viticulture and the Lipscombe's winemaking is a winning combo.
